Birch plywood from the best raw material. Baltic birch plywood is primarily produced in Finland and Russia. The two outer plies, which comprise the front and back, show vertical wood grain that runs lengthwise throughout the sheets. It’s manufactured for European cabinetmaking. We have wide variety of hard-to-find sheet stock up to 5×available for immediate shipment. Face veneers are considered clear and free of defects with a light-uniform color. This means that the plywood would have an “A” grade face with a “1” back.


There may be voids in the ply. We place a special emphasis on specialty veneers and distinct panelling products. Finnish birch plywood is furnished in x sheets, depending on current availability. Prices fluctuate with changes in sheet sizes.


Full sheets require truck shipment unless cut in half for UPS. Our Red Oak and Prefinished Maple plywoods are made in the USA. Production of plywood was very much improved in Baltic countries especially in Russia during last years.


Plywood birch

Its strength, uniformity and coloration make it useful for both finished and exposed wood applications. Front face is Grade II that allows for small, matching color patches in uniform white, one piece face veneer. This grade also allows for pin knots or tight knots.


Common birch is a medium-size deciduous tree that colonises open areas quickly through the use of its abundantly produced seeds. This thin plywood has a consistently smooth finish that requires no sanding and takes paint and varnish well. It is most abundant in Northern Europe. Variations in color are naturally occurring and should not be considered a defect.


Each layer of birch veneer is peeled at 1. Birch is widely used in the cabinet industry, mostly because it makes superior plywood that is stable, affordable and readily available in most home improvement stores. We have Shop grade, which is used mostly for cabinet box construction. We have A, B, and C grade which is used in highly visible areas, like furniture or end panels on cabinets. We also carry a Light weight specialty plywood for specific jobs, where weight is an issue.
