Likely you will be disuaded from doing a repair yourself. Dash mat is the clothe mat that just covers over top of the dash. They look nice but they dont fix the problem. A dash cap is a cap that is made of ABS plastic and is textured just like the original dash. You afix it over top of the dash with a strong industrial adhesive (should come with the cap) and it will become part of the dash permanately.
The cracks in my dashboard have been bothering me since the day I got the car. I finally decided to take a crack at fixing it myself. Replacing the dash seems like too much work, time and money.
