Rockwool Croutons Ph Rise Issue. If you have a good way to soak and rinse a large amount of the the rockwool croutons though i am all ears! Started a round of plants using rockwool croutons and they are rocking it pretty hard. HUGE difference from using Promix HP peat. I’ve been doing it Cap’n style with my latest batch (about a month in), but I actually grabbed coco croutons instead of rockwool chunks. Soak either Grow-cubes (small croutons ) or Grow-chunks (larger croutons ) in water. IF you have hard water, use pH 5. Make veg nutrient solution for transplants (EC at pH works well) Use 1-gallon size cloth containers on ebb and flow tables.


I am liking the croutons a lot. They dont get as heavy as the cubes and provide lots of airspace so no worries about over watering. It takes up a minimal footprint an when used correctly, yields like crazy. The product consists of small stonewool croutons about the size of a sugar cube. After laying out the irrigation system, the rockwool slabs are then cut on the underside in order to allow excess water to drain.


The rockwool blocks are saturated with water and fertilizer. When you use this potting mix the miniature cubes stack on top of each other and air pockets are created throughout the pot.
