Weathered oak stain

I just wanted the stain to act as a base and to tone down the yellow color of the wood. I let everything dry overnight. It added just the right amount of grey tones to the wood.


We tested out a few different combinations to get a more gray washed looked. Wood Classics Interior Oil Stain is available in colors. Malaysian oak , particle board or balsa wood. The color was not as vivid as I thought it would be and I worried. Rub it in, then remove the excess. We are considering a weathered oak stain … any thoughts on if.


This stain also took two heavy coats for the color to be deep enough for me to really get a sense of the color, but it’s still a bit on the light side. He then did I dark walnut, white, grey weathered oak (middle left) which looks great in my light, however, I just am. I’ve picked the ones I really liked and I’m going to try out myself.
