Ziricote lumber

The wood tends to develop end and surface checks during drying, which can be problematic: though the wood is stable once dry. The color ranges from reddish brown to dark brown with unusual black streaks. The heartwood is dull brown with irregular dark brown and black streaking, and the sapwood is creamy white to light golden tan. Contains irregular wavy grain, sometimes with a three dimensional appearance. Its widely used for custom stringed instruments as well as inlay work on small furniture or jewelry boxes.
