How to wire a double switch to two separate lights

A double-switch allows you to operate two lights or appliances from the same location. Double switches , sometimes called double pole , allow you to separately control the power being sent to multiple places from the same switch. You can mount the switches side-by-side in a double -gang. Cut two lengths of black wire and two lengths of bare copper wire about inches long.

A wire that is bare, green, or yellow (or green with a yellow stripe) is the grounding wire , and the white wire is the neutral wire.
