Covering a popcorn ceiling

Removing a popcorn ceiling is a messy, time-consuming job. The planks are installed onto metal channels that are placed over the old ceiling and screwed to the ceiling joists. Covering an old ceiling with new drywall is a big job—heavy lifting, a serious time commitment and a major mess. But in some cases, it’s the smartest way to go.


Not only is it less messy and time-consuming, but it is also a fairly easy process that any aspiring DIYer can tackle in a weekend.
