It is pressure treated for protection against termintes and rot. Ideal for a variety of applications including decks, play sets, landscaping, stair support and walkways and other outdoor projects where lumber is exposed to the elements. This exterior grade plywood features a sanded Radiata pine face.

CDX is the most common exterior plywood grade. Appearance stamps on plywood range from cabinet-grade (A) to construction grade (C and D). Exterior plywood carries an X stamp, which identifies it as suitable for use outdoors. Beside CDX, you can also find better grades, such as ABX, ACX and even BCX. There is no need to choose AC grade plywood since smoothness is not a prime concern with wood flooring.


Even a rougher finished plywood , such as CD plywood , will work with most applications. A typical plywood grade would be A- 1. This means that the plywood would have an “A” grade face with a “ ” back. A- and B-plywood grades are typically the grades most often used in ½” and thicker panels for cabinet work. The most common grade used in ¼” panels is A- 4. Plywood and hardwood plywood. Our hardwood plywood is environmentally certified and meets the strictest emission requirements in North America.

Short periods of humidity up to in service can usually be tolerated. Interior plywood is made with moderately moisture resistant interior glue. About of these are doors, are plywoods, and are engineered flooring. Marine plywood is not treated with any chemicals to enhance its resistance to decay. If decay is a concern, it should be pressure-preservative treated to an appropriate standard. This type of plywood is often used in applications where the plywood itself won’t be seen, such as an underlayment.


Sanded plywood manufactured for use in exterior applications must meet the requirements for an “ Exterior ” bond classification and be manufactured with minimum “C” grade veneers. This often is due to the foreign origin of much of this material and the resulting metric thickness measurement, particularly in ash and birch plywood (percent or more of which comes from Taiwan, Japan, and Indonesia).
