If you have textured walls , specifically Venetian plaster textured walls , and you’re looking to smooth them out, there is a simple strategy for creating flat walls. Simple, but not necessarily easy. Your plaster wall will be perfectly smooth.

We originally wanted to skim coat the walls to smooth them out, but a contractor suggested that we could put up drywall over it instead since we have some room to give on our baseboards and trim. If the wall was painted prior to wallpaper installation, follow the instruction for painted or textured walls. Likewise, if you have plaster , follow the instruction in that section.
