How to install fascia board

Nail the fascia boards twice with your soffits and roof joists. This is to achieve better stability for the boards. Choose the fascia depth very well. Wood fascia is easy to install , though there are several techniques used to ensure that the fascia goes on straight and true.


Rotting fascia boards are not a cause of roof leaks. The leak is from poor flashing on the roof somewhere, broken or missing shingles, etc. When you do the tear off, replace the fascia boards and soffit, replace any damaged sheets of.


If the wood fascia is in reasonable condition, it should stay. If it is rotting or otherwise in disrepair, it needs to come down, and you will need to replace it. Cut New Fascia Board : Using the damaged fascia board as a pattern, cut the new fascia board to match. Join two fascia boards together over a rafter or joist at a 45° angle by setting your circular saw to degrees, then cutting square across the width of the board. Use the same method you used for installing the other fascia trim to install the corner pieces not the fascia board. How to install fascia board

How to install fascia board

Slide one end into the j-channel and nail the far side of the soffit to the wood fascia board using one nail to keep the soffit in place until you install the vinyl fascia. Make sure to nail in the groove to keep the soffit from buckling. Your actual price will depend on job. After the soffits are fixed we can now put the fascia boards on. We fix the fascia boards using 65mm ring shank nails which are stainless steel to avoid any rust marks on your fascia boards in the months and years to come.


Continue panel installation for entire side. FASCIA TRIM - Beginning at corners, cut and bend to form box (see Fig 2), position up snug to underside of soffit panels, predrill (align with soffit grooves) and nail through bottom lip of fascia trim every along bottom edge of fascia board. Inspect the fascia and soffit for any rot or decay before moving on to installation.


What good will installation be if the fascia holding your gutters up rots away? To inspect the fascia , poke at the ends of fascia boards , or where two ends of fascia boards meet.
